O’Regan & Partners Mount Isa

Mount Isa is a city of over 22,000 inhabitants and maintains a significant presence in the Western Gulf region of Queensland. Approximately 1,000 kilometers west of Townsville, Mount Isa boasts one of the world’s richest deposits of copper, silver, lead and zinc.

The city is a hub for the vast cattle grazing operations in the area and the Mount Isa rodeo, the third largest in the world, is an iconic Australian event. “The Isa” has been the birth place of many Australian sporting greats including golfing legend Greg Norman, tennis superstar Pat Rafter and Boomers basketballer Peter Crawford.

In 2002, Peter O’Regan commenced a visiting practice in Cloncurry, servicing this from his original Longreach practice. The Mount Isa office was established in 2006 with the take over of the Rafter & Cox practice. This office has grown substantially since establishment and the visiting office in Cloncurry is serviced at least monthly from here. Senior Mount Isa practice members also regularly visit the Winton office to service the substantial client base in that region.

The O’Regan and Partners Mount Isa office acts for mining service businesses in Mount Isa and Cloncurry as well as general town small businesses and a significant number of rural clients involved in the Western Queensland beef industry. The Senior Audit team is based in Mount Isa and travels to other offices throughout the state to complete Audit assignments. The firm also provides specialised Local Government consultancy services to several Western Queensland councils. These services include Internal Audit, virtual CFO, general financial and accountancy consulting.
