Over the period since the start of this calendar year we have had a number of changes with personnel in our practice. I thought it appropriate and timely that we provide you all with more detail on these changes.
Kathryn Barry, a senior associate in the practice has left the firm to take up a role with an engineering services company in setting up their Xero software programme as well as internal accounting for that business. We have not lost Kathryn entirely as she will most likely continue in a part time consulting role with us on Xero matters in particular. In addition we are hopeful that she will return to us some time in the future.
We have, however been very fortunate in recruiting Mackenzie Godson to our firm. Mackenzie is a qualified Chartered Accountant with 7 years at Price Waterhouse Coopers in Perth and then at Woodside in their corporate tax department. Mackenzie will be based in Tennant Creek – having moved there to support her partner who has taken up a teaching position in the town. Whilst she will be working remotely from Tennant Creek she will also be travelling periodically to some of our other offices in particular Mount Isa, Emerald and Brisbane. She will bring substantial depth to our advisory and business services to our clients with her substantial tax experience and expertise.
We were also most fortunate to recruit Peter Walsh to our firm. Peter will be based in our Winton office on a full time basis but will undertake periodic visits to our Mount Isa and Emerald offices. Peter comes from a background in the Oil & Gas industry, being originally from Chinchilla but has more recently worked in local government in a number of finance related roles. Peter has a Commerce degree and will be commencing his Chartered Accounting qualifications in the next year.
Finally we welcome Amie Luong to our firm. Amie is joining us as a new graduate having recently completed a Business degree from QUT. She will be based in our Brisbane office
